Familiarity & Contempt

Snape/Harry  |  PG  |  200 words  |  January 2007
warnings: rentgirl!Harry

"Watch where you're going," Severus snarled. The girl, presumably a prostitute, jumped out of the way, a muttered apology on her lips. Something about her seemed familiar, and Severus watched, eyes narrowed, as she turned to walk away. He frowned, wondering if she might be a former student. He may not have been very prone to sentimentality, but nor did he like to see former students brought quite so low. He pushed lightly at her mind and encountered the blank wall of an occlumens. A very familiar occlumens. Her hips swayed as she walked away, confident on ludicrously high heels.

"I think you're mistaken, sir," the girl said stiffly. Her voice was cool, but Severus could hear the underlying thread of panic.

Severus raised an eyebrow, and smirked when the girl blanched. "Oh, I think not," he whispered, leaning close. "I've been watching you. I know--" His lips formed the shape of who. "--what you are."

The girl's eyes, spitting hatred, were an alluring shade of turquoise, as if the blue contacts hadn't quite taken. Severus felt his smirk stretch into an unpleasant smile. "And if you don't want everyone else to know, you'll do as I ask."
